Arizona: Unlimited golf and $50 nightly credit at Tucson resort
- Share via
Free golf for parents and kids and $50 a night credit are the highlights of a family package at the JW Marriott Starr Pass in Tucson. The fun factor for kids at this desert resort means swimming pools, a lazy river and water slides plus free meals for those 12 and younger.
Deal: I wrote about the Family Swing and Fling package earlier this year when it was offered at another Marriott, Desert Ridge Resort in Phoenix. It’s still a good deal, particularly for families that like golf and like big resorts but don’t like big price tags.
The package includes unlimited rounds of golf at the resort’s 27-hole Arnold Palmer Signature Golf Facility for two adults and two children. It also comes with a $50 resort credit each night, free Internet, free parking and more. Kids 12 and younger eat three meals a day free with a paying adult.
When: The offer is good through the end of the year.
Tested: I found the package available for Labor Day weekend (Sept. 2-5) when temperatures can be in the 80s and 90s, and the greens can be toasty. The room I found goes for $179 a night plus tax -- $40 more than the standard rate without all the extras. Package cost rises considerably in cooler months (I found $319 a night plus tax when I checked random dates in November), so going in the warmer off-season keeps the price low.
