Gear: You can charge with this card, thanks to a built-in USB plug
- Share via
How frustrating to be traveling and in need of a USB cable, and discover that you left yours at home. No problem. Just reach into your wallet and pull out the ChargeCard.
No, not the credit card, but the ChargeCard credit-card-size USB charging cable. Built into the ChargeCard, which is about double the thickness of a regular credit card, is a slender flexible pop-out rubber tongue with a USB plug at its tip.
Protruding at one end of the otherwise rigid card is a 30-pin connector for iPhone 4/4S (or some iPods) or a micro USB connector.
A ChargeCard for the iPhone5 is due out by July. Just plug the connector into an appropriate port and you’re ready to go.
Then slide the ChargeCard back into a spare card slot for the next emergency. USB ChargeCard is about $25.
