Former Judge Guilty in Hells Angels Bribe Case

CLEVELAND — A former judge pleaded no contest and was found guilty Wednesday of accepting $11,900 in bribes to dismiss charges in two Hells Angels murder cases.
Former Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge James J. McGettrick, 68, who was removed from the bench following his indictment last April, pleaded no contest to three counts of bribery. After the no-contest plea, Judge Simon Leis found him guilty and set sentencing for Feb. 1. McGettrick, who remains free on bond, faces a maximum of six years in prison and fines of $15,000.
