2 Die in Cycle-Truck Crash: Two men were killed early Tuesday when their motorcycle went through a red light and crashed into a pickup truck on Newport Boulevard in Costa Mesa, police said. Pronounced dead at the scene were Keith Darin Lane, 26, of Yorba Linda, operator of the motorcycle, and his passenger, Randy Darnell Breland, 24, of Placentia. The driver of the truck, Dan Murray Stocks, 68, of Costa Mesa, suffered head and chest injuries and was taken to Fountain Valley Community Hospital, where he was listed in good condition Tuesday afternoon. Lt. Thomas Durham said Lane’s motorcycle was heading northbound at about 65 m.p.h. and went through a red light at Mesa Drive, hitting the eastbound truck about 12:50 a.m. Tuesday.
