A convicted slumlord was sentenced to 45 days in jail and ordered by a judge to empty her vermin- and rodent-infested apartment building of all tenants or sell the structure. Paula Chang-Moreno received the sentence from Los Angeles Municipal Court Commissioner Robert Sandoval for violating the terms of the two-year probation on which she was placed last year after pleading guilty to eight misdemeanor health and municipal code violations at the building. Deputy City Atty. Aline Bakewell said Chang-Moreno violated her probation by failing to eradicate vermin and rodent infestation, as well as correct electrical problems, at the four-story, 46-unit building at 1909 S. Union Ave., near downtown Los Angeles.
