Gulf Canada sweetened its bid for Hiram Walker.

In its latest proposal, Gulf Canada offered to buy the remaining Hiram Walker common shares for $38 (Canadian) each, or $27.35 at current exchange rates. The offer is closed to U.S. stockholders, however. Gulf Canada originally offered $32 (Canadian) a share for up to 40 million Hiram Walker shares.
