The sheriff’s substation in Laguna Niguel invites people to drop in, but visitors early Tuesday arrived with an unexpected bang.
Sheriff’s deputies and the California Highway Patrol said a pickup truck with two Laguna Hills teen-agers went out of control and slammed into the back porch of the substation, on Crown Valley Parkway near Hillhurst Drive.
The CHP, which investigated the 1 a.m. accident, said the driver was David Brian Vallelunga, 19, and his passenger was Sean Simpson, 18. Neither was injured. A witness in another vehicle told the CHP that Vallelunga veered sharply, losing control of the pickup.
No one was cited. The Sheriff’s Department reported minor damage to the porch.
