A former Defense Department buyer who accepted $114,000 in bribes was sentenced to six months in prison, five years’ probation and a $10,000 fine. Sidney W. Weiss pleaded guilty in August to two counts of bribery and one count each of conspiracy and tax evasion. He was the 16th buyer convicted in a probe of the Defense Industrial Supply Center in Philadelphia.
