Gargoyles, Angels Run Rampant on L.A.-Area Streets
- Share via
Look a little closer at the streets around the Los Angeles area and you’ll see angels, gargoyles, Mayan figures and dolphins. Old buildings and new are adorned with sculptures, paintings and murals.
Even old light posts are covered with flowers and swirls. Buildings and underpasses are splashed with colorful murals that feature whales, people and actors.
Many of the newer buildings feature a high-tech look. One sculpture at a downtown Los Angeles building symbolically salutes the automobile.
It’s all around, and it’s free.
