Irvine Faces Utah State as New Arena Opens

UC Irvine steps out of tiny Crawford Hall and into its new 5,000-seat on-campus arena tonight when the Anteaters host Utah State in a 7:30 p.m. Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. game.
A crowd of 4,600 is expected to turn out for the opening of the Donald Bren Events Center, which cost $15 million and took nearly two years to complete.
The Anteaters are 5-6 overall, 0-2 in the PCAA. Utah State is 8-6 and 1-1.
