Oak Industries posted a loss of $3.11 million for the second quarter, compared to income of $76.66 million in last year’s quarter. The year-ago results include gains from the sale of Oak’s materials segment, the retirement of a substantial amount of outstanding public debt and tax benefits. Revenue for the quarter increased by 28%, the San Diego company said. The second-quarter loss was due in part to rescheduling of some orders, reduced sales in the communications segment and delayed shipments due to a manufacturing problem, the company said.
