A 23-month-old girl suffered a concussion Friday after falling out of a second-story apartment window on 2nd Avenue.
Notemi Sandoval was taken by paramedics to Children’s Hospital and kept for overnight observation, said Esther Leon, an aunt who was baby-sitting the child.
“She was on the sofa and pushed the screen out,” Leon said. “She landed on the awning and then on the sidewalk.” The first-floor awning protected the toddler from greater injury, Leon and witnesses said.
Leon, 36, said she was washing dishes in the kitchen adjacent to the living room when the accident occurred.
