Santa Monica : Library to Reopen March 21
- Share via
The city’s main library, closed a year and a half ago to remove an asbestos-ridden ceiling, will reopen to the public March 21 at 10 a.m.
The opening will begin a week of special events, including films, lectures and a puppet show.
The ceiling was replaced and the library was remodeled, new lighting and carpeting were installed, and an improved computer system was added to speed up the process of checking out and returning books. The project cost about $2 million.
The library is at 1343 6th St. For more information on hours and the complete program, call (213) 458-8600.
