Bullet-Riddled Body Found Near Alpine

Sheriff’s homicide detectives are investigating the slaying of an unidentified East County man whose bullet-riddled body was found Saturday morning near Alpine.
Lt. Bill Baxter said an El Cajon couple discovered the body about 5:20 a.m. in the 16100 block of old Highway 80 near Alpine.
The 29-year-old man, whose name was being withheld until his family could be contacted, was shot numerous times in the upper body and head. His occupation and address were unknown, officials said.
It was unclear how long the fully clothed victim had been dead. Officials said the cause of death will not be revealed until an autopsy is completed .
