Racing pioneer Reeves Dutton, who engineered and rode in the early Stutz cars, died in his sleep Tuesday at his home in Simi Valley. He was 101.
Dutton was Earl Cooper’s partner in national championships in 1913, 1915 and 1917. The native of Henoye Falls, N.Y., stayed in the sport until two-man race teams were outlawed in 1937.
Memorial services will be held Saturday at Reardon Mortuary in Simi Valley.
