Cerritos : 2nd Towne Center Office

The Cerritos City Council has approved construction of a second office building in Towne Center. One of nearly two dozen office buildings eventually planned in the redevelopment area, the 2-story building will be leased by Automatic Data Processing, which is moving some of its offices from La Palma.

The 52,000-square-foot building will rise on a 7-acre parcel on the northeast corner of Bloomfield Avenue and 183rd Street. It is designed to accommodate additions on the north and east sides.

The first office building is already under construction on the Towne Center tract across from City Hall. Plans for a 203-room hotel and a community arts center have also been approved. Although the project developer has encountered repeated delays in financing for the hotel, officials of the Transpacific Development Co. say they are on the verge of securing the necessary loans and will soon be able to proceed with construction.
