40 Arrested for Trespassing at W. Los Angeles Guard Armory

Forty protesters demonstrating against the government of El Salvador were arrested in West Los Angeles on Saturday on trespassing charges after they entered the National Guard Armory and walked through an area where radar equipment is kept, sheriff’s deputies said.
The 40 men and women, members of a group of 500 anti-government activists who marched from the Federal Building to the armory, were arrested without incident, according to Sheriff’s Sgt. Arthur Ames.
Members of the group, the Pledge of Resistance, were protesting alleged brutality in El Salvador.
As they made their way to the armory, about 40 counter-demonstrators marched on the opposite side of the street.
