An unidentified man fell to his death from a downtown Los Angeles overpass while struggling with a woman who had rejected his sexual advances, authorities said today. The woman, Deborah Hollingsworth, 31, suffered scrapes and bruises while resisting the man but did not require hospitalization, LAPD detective Rick Lane said.
Hollingsworth told police she had been drinking with the man Sunday night when he began making sexual advances toward her. The two were struggling on the Fourth Street overpass above Flower Street when the man lost his balance and fell 70 feet about 11:15 p.m. Police termed his death accidental and did not arrest Hollingsworth.
