Redondo Softball Team Wins in Baja

The Gamblers of Redondo Beach won the Silver Cup of Mexico softball tournament played every year in San Jose del Cabo at the tip of Baja California, defeating the Brewers of Los Angeles in the “gold medal game” Friday afternoon, 14-5.
The Gamblers went 6-2 in the 6-day tournament, which is sponsored by a Canadian tour group, losing only to host San Jose and to Stony Ridge, a Canadian team.
It was the first time in 4 years that U.S. teams had participated.
