The State : Child Molester Gets 14 Years
A child molester who was partially paralyzed after his victim’s father shot him repeatedly in April has been sentenced to 14 years in state prison. Sacramento Superior Court Judge Carol Miller imposed the prison term on Jeffrey Warren Haskell for molesting the girl, who is now 11, over the last three years. Haskell, 33, of the Sacramento suburb of Citrus Heights, pleaded no contest to three counts of molestation. Haskell was shot in the stomach, head and testicles April 12 at a Roseville church where he went for counseling. He now suffers paralysis on the left side of his body and cannot talk or eat, except with the help of special apparatus. The child’s father, Ronnie Edwin Willeford, 34, also of Citrus Heights, has pleaded guilty to two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, but the judge in the case has indicated that Willeford will probably not receive a prison term when he is sentenced Dec. 13.
