On Sept. 21 I was greeted by no less than six photos of Richard Ramirez in my Times.
Why is it that you rarely publicize the scores of “good deeds” done by ordinary citizens, but we can regularly count on repeated sensational publicity for monsters such as Ramirez or drive-by assassins?
I know sensationalism sells papers. But if that’s what I wanted to buy, I’d go straight to the National Enquirer.
