An Escondido man died Friday night after being struck by a car in a hit-and-run accident, police said.
Silvestre Vasquez, 22, was crossing Quince Street just north of Third Avenue at 10:02 p.m. when he was struck by a southbound car, police said. Vasquez was transported to Palomar Memorial Hospital, where he was declared dead at 10:37 p.m., hospital officials said.
Witnesses told police that the car continued south on Quince after the accident, but police have neither a description of the vehicle nor a suspect.
