Arcadia : Water Rate Hike Proposed
Increases in power costs may cause residents to pay more for water starting in July under a rate hike proposed Tuesday.
The City Council will vote on the increase June 4.
Public Works Director Joseph R. Lopez and Water Manager Eldon G. Davidson recommended a 9% water rate increase for the 1991-92 fiscal year.
The current rate is 66 cents per 100 cubic feet. The new rate would be 72 cents. The base cost for bimonthly meter service would also increase 50 cents to $4.50. Under the rate proposal, the average customer who uses about 33,000 gallons per billing cycle and pays $33.04 would pay $36.18.
