A Clairemont man charged with killing his estranged wife pleaded guilty Friday to second-degree murder.
William Earl Nolte, 47, will be sentenced Sept. 20 in Superior Court. He could be sentenced to a maximum of 15 years to life in state prison.
Alexandra Nolte, 48, was found April 13 on the kitchen floor of her home on Cochise Way. She had been shot several times. Nolte was arrested in Julian the same day.
Nolte entered his plea just before his case was to be assigned to a courtroom. He remains in County Jail in lieu of $1 million bail.
