Brush Fire Scorches 5 Acres Near Bell Canyon

Fire officials are investigating the cause of a Sunday morning blaze that scorched five acres of brush east of Bell Canyon.
About 100 firefighters battled the flames, which broke out at 12:20 a.m. near Bell Canyon and Valley Circle boulevards, for an hour before bringing the fire under control, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Pat Marek said.
No one was injured and no structures were threatened, Marek said.
