A 32-year-old Simi Valley man was found dead Sunday afternoon in a motel room, police said.
The victim’s name has not been released pending notification of next of kin. He had been dead for several hours and was discovered by a maid about 12:45 p.m. at the Motel 6 on Erringer Road, Simi Valley Police Lt. Neal Rein said.
The cause of death has not been determined, but police said it may have been an accidental drug overdose. Paramedics said they saw three hypodermic syringes and a small amount of white powder in the room.
An autopsy is scheduled for today, Ventura County Deputy Coroner Dale Zentzis said.
