Bell Gardens 33, Alhambra 10--Junior quarterback Ricky Oropeza rushed for two touchdowns and threw for another in the first half to lead the Lancers past visiting Alhambra in an Almont League game.
Oropeza had 97 of Bell Gardens’ 288 yards rushing in 13 carries and scored on runs of six and one yards. He also hooked up with senior wide receiver Francisco Macias on a 22-yard touchdown pass seven seconds before halftime.
Alhambra junior running back Charles Davenport Jr. rushed for 46 yards in eight carries. The Moors scored their only touchdown on an eight-yard pass from quarterback Aryn Hart to Justin Huen on a drive aided by four Bell Gardens penalties.
