American Express Dumps Chiat/Day: American Express has fired the Venice-based agency Chiat/Day/Mojo from its $60 million-plus credit card ad business. The advertising, which has been created by the ad firm’s New York office, has not been immediately handed to another agency. There is industry speculation that the account will end up back at American Express’ former agency, Ogilvy & Mather. Chiat/Day has been criticized for the ads, which feature oversized American Express cards showing up in unexpected places. It is not immediately know how the loss will affect the Venice office of the agency, which also creates ads for Nissan.
