Sierra Madre : Meeting on Orange Grove
A community meeting for residents to review design plans for the Orange Grove Improvement Project has been scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Los Angeles County recently submitted a preliminary design to Sierra Madre and Arcadia for proposed improvements to Orange Grove Avenue, and the city seeks public opinion before moving ahead.
Sierra Madre’s share of the cost is estimated at $600,000 to $700,000.
The plans comply with residents’ wishes to retain all trees along the avenue. A few trees would be relocated a short distance but none would be destroyed in widening the street and adding curbs.
The profiles of the dips in the road at Lima Street Avenue and at Hermosa Avenue will also be discussed.
The meeting will be in the Community Recreation Center, 611 E. Sierra Madre Boulevard.
