CAMARILLO : Veterans to Raise Funds for Memorial
- Share via
A group of Camarillo veterans have banded together to build a memorial in Constitution Park.
The Camarillo Veterans’ Memorial Committee plans to raise money for a monument honoring city residents who have served in the U.S. armed forces, committee member Bill Johnson said.
Johnson said the group chose to put the memorial in Constitution Park at Carmen Drive and Paseo Camarillo because of the park’s central location.
Veteran Sam Walker told the City Council on Wednesday that the group has tentative plans for a wide walkway leading to a 6-foot-tall monument that will bear the names of the various armed forces and an inscription honoring veterans.
Residents interested in working with the veterans committee may call Johnson at 482-7130.
