The fifth suspect sought in the Halloween slayings of three Pasadena teen-agers will be arraigned today in Pasadena Municipal Court after surrendering at police headquarters.
Herbert McClain, 25, who fled to the Midwest for a time, walked into Pasadena police headquarters and told police he was “tired of looking over his shoulder,” Lt. Denis Petersen said.
He is the last suspect sought in the ambush killings of Edgar Evans, 13, and Stephen Coats and Reggie Crawford, both 14, as they walked home from a Halloween party.
Police say the suspects, all reputed Pasadena gang members, were angry at the shooting of one of their gang colleagues and may have mistakenly shot the three teen-agers, who had no gang ties.
