COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Pacific Christian Reaches Final of Tournament

Second-half star Chuck Henderson scored the last five points of overtime as third-seeded Pacific Christian advanced to the championship of the National Christian College Athletic Assn. Division II men’s basketball tournament with a 102-99 victory over No. 2 Northwest College of Kirkland, Wash.
Pacific Christian will play for the title tonight against host and top-seeded Central Bible College at Dowell Arena in Springfield, Mo.
Henderson, who scored all 18 of his points after halftime, hit a three-pointer and a two-pointer to finish the scoring for Pacific Christian (28-16).
Charles Ross had 36 points and 18 rebounds for Pacific Christian, which outrebounded Northwest, 42-24, despite giving up an average of two inches per man.
Anthony Cryer’s three-pointer with three seconds left in regulation tied the score for Northwest.
In the Golden State Athletic Conference women’s basketball tournament:
Azusa Pacific 69, Southern California College 61--Azusa went on a 19-0 first-half run, and SCC (24-8) never recovered.
Sanja Simidzija scored 18 points for SCC, which finished its best season ever.
