San Fernando : Panel Seeks Input About Dial-A-Ride
- Share via
The San Fernando Recreation and Community Services Commission will take public comment tonight at City Hall on the possible expansion of the community’s Dial-A-Ride program.
The program provides what is called demand/response service to the community’s elderly and handicapped who may lack transportation. Currently, San Fernando residents can call the Dial-A-Ride dispatcher and reserve a place in one of the program’s vans for shopping trips or transportation to medical appointments.
City Council members have asked for a report from the Recreation and Community Services Commission on the program so that they may begin reviewing ways to expand it. The service provider, Medi-Ride, is also reportedly eager to hear feedback on its performance.
San Fernando City Hall is at 117 Macneil St. The meeting, in City Council chambers, will begin at 7 p.m.
