Child Killed in Driveway Accident

PACOIMA — A 3-year-old girl was run over and killed by her family’s runaway car Wednesday, police said.
Passing paramedics saw the child holding onto the passenger door handle of the empty car as it rolled backward down a driveway in the 11400 block of Bradley Avenue at 6:25 p.m., Sgt. C. Swanson of the Los Angeles Police Department said.
When the child lost her grip and fell under the car, the paramedics stopped to treat her injuries. The girl was airlifted to Childrens Hospital in Hollywood where she was pronounced dead at 7:42 p.m., Swanson said.
The girl’s identity was not released pending notification of her relatives. The investigation is continuing.
