Oxnard firefighters rescued a woman and her dog from a fire at 201 Fairbourne Place about 9 p.m. Wednesday.
The fire began in the kitchen and filled the two-story apartment with smoke, Capt. George Todd said. The woman, Nancy Partridge, was found unconscious and face down on her bed. “We found her and had her out in two or three minutes,” Todd said. There were no other injuries reported.
Partridge, 58, was taken to St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard, where she was reported in stable condition.
The dog was partially revived with oxygen and taken to Pet Emergency, a private animal hospital where it was treated for smoke inhalation.
