Tim Blackburn
University, Senior
Baseball/Pitcher-first baseman
Blackburn got off to a rocky start against Laguna Hills last Tuesday. He walked three batters, committed a two-base error and had a wild pitch in the first two innings. But each inning he struck out the final two batters with runners on second and third. After that, only one Laguna Hills runner reached--on a wild pitch after striking out--and Blackburn had a no-hitter and a 6-0 victory. Thursday, Blackburn pitched the final inning to earn his first save in an 11-9 victory over Laguna Hills, clinching the outright league title. He also was five for eight, scored four runs and had four runs batted in.
