Westside : PLANET HOLLYWEIRD

Beverly Hills officials don’t mind having the first Westside Planet Hollywood restaurant in their town, as long as it sheds such adornments as speckled-pink granite door frames.
And that proposed exterior wall of celebrity handprints? Tacky, tacky, tacky.
B.H. does have an image to keep up, you know.
And that image does not include green and pink zebra-striped awnings, which the celeb-owned eatery proposed, nor their second choice either--bright pink.
After all, this hamburger joint will be on Wilshire Boulevard, near the tony department store, Barneys New York, and the Regent Beverly Hills Hotel.
Progress, albeit slow progress, is being made on the design proposal.
“It is 1,000% better than it was,” said Councilwoman MeraLee Goldman. “But it is still just a little bit off.”
The Planet Hollywood crew will face off against the council for Round 4 of the toning-down process next week.
The burger chain, whose owners include Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger, is known for its off-the-wall design.
