Tyson to Acquire Poultry Processor: The Springdale, Ark.-based food company said it has agreed in principle to buy McCarty Farms Inc. for an undisclosed amount in cash. Tyson Foods Inc.’s purchase is expected to be made final Sept. 1. McCarty Farms, based in Jackson, Miss., produces and processes 2.4 million chickens a week, marketing them under both the McCarty Farms and McCarty Foods brands.
