2 Colombians Get Long Prison Terms for Drug Trafficking

Two Colombians arrested last year with nearly one ton of cocaine were sentenced to lengthy prison terms for drug trafficking, the Los Angeles district attorney’s office said Tuesday.
Carlos Ortiz, 42, was sent to state prison for 30 years and Ramon Franco Bejarano, 39, received a 29-year term, prosecutors said. The two men were convicted last week after a two week trial on various cocaine-linked charges, including conspiracy, transportation, possession and sale.
They were arrested in February, 1994, after a cache of cocaine was discovered in their North Hollywood garage during an undercover narcotics operation.
