HUNTINGTON BEACH : Work on PCH, Warner to Be Discussed
- Share via
Road improvements proposed by Caltrans at Warner Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway will be the topic for a community meeting tonight at City Hall.
Jim Otterson, city traffic engineer, said the plan would add a lane for motorists westbound on Warner Avenue to turn south onto Pacific Coast Highway. It would also put a crosswalk across Pacific Coast Highway at Warner.
Otterson said the city favors the changes to ensure pedestrian safety and accommodate a growing volume of traffic.
He said that pedestrians who cross Pacific Coast Highway now do so illegally and at great risk. A man and his son were killed crossing the highway there, he said, one of 42 accidents in the past two years at the intersection.
The 7 p.m. meeting, held jointly by the city and Caltrans, will be in the City Council Chambers, 2000 Main St.
