Event to Aid Memorial Fund
The public is invited to enjoy an evening of coffee and cake Saturday at Rancho Tapo Park in Simi Valley to benefit the family of slain Police Officer Michael F. Clark.
Clark was gunned down in the line of duty Aug. 4 while trying to deal with a suicidal man.
The event is scheduled to run from 5 to 8 p.m., with all proceeds going to the Clark family.
More than $90,000 has been collected for the fund, which benefits Clark’s widow, Jenifer, and infant son, Bayley. About 115 Simi Valley municipal employees have contributed $19,200 in vacation and sick-leave pay. The rest of the money has come from residents, community groups and police agencies from across the state.
