PIRU : County OKs Quake Repair on 8 Buildings
- Share via
Twenty-one months after the Northridge earthquake shook the area, tiny Piru can start repairing eight vintage buildings in its quaint downtown.
The Ventura County Board of Supervisors voted Tuesday to award a $429,000 contract to Se-Pac Construction of Los Angeles.
The allocation is part of a $630,000 project to repair structural damage to the eight buildings on East Center Street. The buildings, constructed in the 1920s and 1930s, total about 11,000 square feet.
The majority of the funding for the project comes from state and federal grants.
