Woodland Hills : Foster Family Agency Receives Kaiser Grant

Pacific Lodge Foster Family Agency has received a $25,000 grant from Kaiser Permanente that the agency will use for its recently established foster family placement service.
The Woodland Hills-based nonprofit service placed its first child in June, said David Genders, head of Pacific Lodge Youth Services, which founded and oversees the new agency.
The grant from Kaiser, he said, will pay the salary of a caseworker for the foster family program, which has three full-time employees and about 15 volunteers. The program began recruiting parents in November 1994 to provide homes for abandoned, abused or neglected children from infants to age 18.
Genders said it’s unlikely that many boys from the Pacific Lodge Youth Services would be placed in foster homes by the new agency, because most foster parents want younger children.
Founded in 1923, Pacific Lodge Youth Services in Woodland Hills is a home for delinquent boys between the ages of 13 and 17.
