El Toro’s Mason, Noll Pick Colleges

El Toro football linemen Matt Mason and Dan Noll have announced their college selections for next fall. Noll will be going to Montana State and Mason has accepted an appointment to the U.S. Military Academy, Charger Coach Mike Milner said.
Mason and Noll were three-year starters at El Toro, which won the Southern Section Division V championship last season. Both players were All-Sea View League selections, and Mason was a Times Orange County first-team selection.

The Garden Grove boys’ basketball team has forfeited two of its four nonleague victories, including a victory over Canyon, in addition to eight Garden Grove League games announced Tuesday. Garden Grove’s overall record changes from 12-11 to 2-21. The Argonauts, now 0-10 in league play, were 8-2 and in first place when the forfeits.
The forfeits were the result of school administrators failing to properly file change-of-residency papers for one basketball player, Garden Grove Principal Gene Campbell said.
Canyon’s adjusted record is 15-7.
