Truck Dumps Trash After It Catches Fire
The driver of a trash truck dumped his load after it caught fire at a busy street corner Monday morning, causing a minor traffic backup, authorities said.
The man noticed smoke about 9:15 a.m. and was advised by firefighters and company supervisors to dump the load. About four firefighters took more than an hour to control the small blaze at Lincoln Avenue and Olive Street, a spokeswoman for the Anaheim Fire Department said.
A spokeswoman for the Anaheim-based Disposal Services, which employs the truck driver, said he had followed correct procedures in handling the fire.
