Restaurant Honors Best Teachers in L.A. County

About 80 Los Angeles area teachers were honored Monday night as the most inspirational educators in Los Angeles County.
The honors were doled out by a Pacific Palisades restaurant that asked principals and students in schools throughout Los Angeles County to choose their best teachers.
This is the first year of the awards, but it will not be the last, said Matthew Mcquaid, of Gladstone’s 4 Fish.
“These are not necessarily the teachers whose students got the best grades, but they’re the ones who the students felt encouraged them to seek out a better future,” said Mcquaid. “In recent years, teachers and the school district haven’t been given the best rap and we wanted to do something.”
