Canoga Park 20, Grant 14--Marlon Bourdess intercepted a pass at Grant’s six-yard line with 12 seconds remaining to preserve the victory for the Hunters (2-3, 1-1).
Junior Galvan led Canoga Park with 125 yards in 14 carries, including a 44-yard touchdown run for the game’s first score. Kevin Carlsen had five receptions for 64 yards and a touchdown.
Grant’s Lawrence Monroy completed 10 of 21 pass attempts for 150 yards and two touchdowns, including a 63-yard scoring pass to Orlando Enoex with two minutes, three seconds left in the third quarter. Monroy also threw three interceptions.
The Lancers (1-4, 0-2) were penalized 11 times for 75 yards and committed four turnovers.
Eddie Saavedra kicked a 39-yard field goal in the first quarter and added a 23-yard field goal midway through the third quarter to give Canoga Park a 20-8 lead.
