Pedestrian Struck by Car Dies

SANTA CLARITA — A man who authorities have been unable to identify died Thursday night, a day after being struck by a car.
The man, who appeared to be about 20, was run over Wednesday at about 7:30 p.m. as he crossed Valencia Boulevard just west of McBean Parkway, said Lt. Steve Dolan of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
The man was walking outside a marked crosswalk, Dolan said.
The car, traveling at about 35 mph, was driven by Tami Massaro, 21, of Littlerock, Dolan said. No charges have been brought against her.
The man suffered severe head injuries and was rushed to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital, where he was put on life support, Dolan said.
Authorities have asked anyone who knows the man’s identity to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The accident remained under investigation.
