Man Held in Rape of 11-Year-Old

GLENDALE — A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of raping and impregnating an 11-year-old girl, police said Wednesday.
Jorge Manuel Sanchez of Glendale was arrested Tuesday, after a social worker from the county Department of Children’s Services notified police. The girl, who had been taken to a hospital by her mother because she was feeling ill, was found by doctors to be 12 weeks pregnant.
The girl said Sanchez, who watched over her while her mother was at work, sexually assaulted her three times, police said.
Sanchez was expected to be arraigned today in Glendale Municipal Court, police said.
