Slightly Warmer Than Normal Week Forecast

The weather this week will be a bit warmer than normal in the San Fernando Valley and windier in desert and mountain areas, weather forecasters said.
Otherwise, the low clouds and fog typical for late night and early mornings this time of year will be prevalent, said meteorologist Bruce Rockwell of the National Weather Service in Oxnard. Skies will be clearing, he said, in the afternoons all week.
There will be 15- to 20-mph winds early in the week, caused by the interaction of a high-pressure system off the coast of San Diego and a low-pressure system centered over Yuma, Ariz., Rockwell said. Those winds will reach 20 to 30 mph in mountain and desert regions.
Temperatures Wednesday and Thursday will cool slightly, returning to seasonal norms in the upper 70s.
Today’s high temperatures are expected to be 83 in Woodland Hills and 80 in Burbank.
